March 25, 2008
ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis cross country/track and field head coach Jon Bell announced today that Jordan Jennings (East Moline, Ill./Lincoln College) and Adair Quisenberry (Owensboro, Ky./Daviess County) have signed National Letters of Intent to attend the University and run for the Billikens. Jennings enters the men's program as a junior next fall and will have two years of eligibility. Quisenberry begins her four years of eligibility with the 2008 cross country season. Jennings transfers to SLU from Lincoln College, a National Junior College Athletic Association Division II institution in Lincoln, Ill. He was an NJCAA national qualifier in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:55. In addition, he ran the leadoff leg of Lincoln's national-qualifying 4x800-meter relay squad. "Jordan is a top-notch addition to our men's team," Bell said."He has the range to run cross country in the fall where he will compete for a top-five spot.Once track begins, Jordan will be able to provide us with another competitor in the 800 meters alongside (freshman) Kyle Ross. Jordan also brings the ability to run a strong 400-meter leg on our 4x400-meter relay." Quisenberry turned in a fourth-place finish at the Kentucky State cross country meet her senior year with a 5K time of 18:58. That performance helped her team to a third-place finish at the meet. Quisenberry was the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Senior of the Year in 2007 in addition to being named All-Area 2. On the track, she was the regional champion in the 3200 meters in 2006. "The addition of Adair to the incoming women's class, in addition to our returning student-athletes, instantly puts us in the upper echelon of the Atlantic 10 Conference," Bell said. "I truly feel our women are well-positioned to make a run at the A-10 cross country crown in the next couple of years. I look forward to her contributions on the track as well."
The duo joins the following three student-athletes who signed NLIs earlier this year: Maria Drzcymski (Fort Dodge, Iowa/St. Edmund), Hilary Orf (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette) and Jenna Romano (Omaha, Neb./Millard North). |
