Lisch Selected to All-Conference Third Team
March 5, 2008
ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis sophomore guard Theresa Lisch (Belleville, Ill./Althoff) has been selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference third team by the A-10's head women's basketball coaches. In conference games only, Lisch is ranked among the top 10 in the league in four statistical categories. She is fifth in scoring (16.5 ppg), seventh in free-throw percentage (83.8 percent), 10th in minutes (33.8 mpg) and tied for 10th in 3-point field goals (1.64 pg). She also averages 5.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. In all games, Lisch leads the Billikens in scoring (17.2 ppg), free-throw percentage (87.8 percent), free throws made and attempted (108-of-123), 3-point field goals (39) and steals (32) while averaging 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. The A-10 requires a player to appear in at least 75 percent of her team's games to be eligible for the statistical rankings, a mark Lisch has not reached due to an injury that caused her to miss SLU's first eight games. Lisch, a 2007 A-10 All-Rookie selection, has scored in double figures in 18 of 21 games this season and has surpassed the 20-point mark six times. She was named A-10 co-Player of the Week after tying the school record with 35 points at Florida, a total that also is the best in the conference this season. She posted consecutive double-doubles of 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds at St. Bonaventure and 16 points and 11 boards against Temple. In addition, Lisch has five perfect games from the foul line with seven or more free throws, including 10-of-10 at Florida. "This is a well-deserved honor for Theresa, and we're happy for her," head coach Shimmy Gray-Miller said. "She is committed to being the absolute best student-athlete she can be, and the results are obvious. Individual awards of this nature are really team accomplishments, and I know Theresa is very appreciative of her teammates' hard work that has allowed her to be recognized for her outstanding performance this season."
